The Peugeot 207’s arrival in 2007 proved that bigger - as new models replace old - is usually better. The 207 is close to the size of Peugeot’s iconic mid-1990s 306, and is part of a diverse, and occasionally confusing, range. From base three-door hatch, the range extends to the 50-grand CC convertible. The entry XR hatch sets the standard. Surprisingly spacious and decidedly driver-friendly, the 207 is Euro charm personified. A 55kW/120Nm 1.4-litre hooks up to five-speed transmissions: regular manual or an automated-manual EGC. Standard gear includes dual airbags, ABS, air-conditioning, trip computer and six-speaker CD audio.
