Volvo’s C30 came to Australia with the promise of being something almost radical from the Swedish car-maker. S40-based, but shorter and lighter, the three-door C30 introduced rear-end styling aspects that had so far only appeared on show prototypes. The very driveable C30 is an appealing, attractive personal coupe that benefits from the refined platform it’s based on. Engines are all five-cylinder, petrol or diesel, with manual or auto options. The 2.4-litre turbodiesel produces 132kW and 350Nm in five-speed auto form, or 132kW/400Nm as a six-speed manual. Equipment is otherwise identical to the C30 S.
