Volvo’s flagship S80 storms onto the luxury market with the might of a Yamaha V8, V6 petrol and a D5 turbodiesel, all-wheel drive and a chassis capable of dealing with indifferent roads. It arrived in 2007 with undetectable connections to the much smaller S40 and a big interior laden with safety, comfort and luxury. The mid-range 3.2-litre 24-valve V6 S80 has a 3.2-litre 175kW/320Nm powerplant driving a six-speed auto transmission and comes with essentially the same equipment as the D5, except wheel size goes up to 18 inches.
