Volvo’s flagship S80 storms onto the luxury market with the might of a Yamaha V8, all-wheel drive and a chassis that knows how to deal with indifferent roads. The big Volvo arrived in June 2007 with undetectable connections to the much smaller S40 and a big, luxurious interior laden with safety, comfort and standard features. The storming 4.4-litre 32-valve V8 produces 232kW and 440Nm, driving only a six-speed sequential auto transmission. The V8 version adds parking sensors and 12-speaker six-CD audio to the already extensive equipment list of D5 and V6 petrol S80s.
